Abstract:

We all know that machine can learn. Given training data, it learns a function to best fit the unseen instances. In this talk, I’ll introduce another set of tasks aiming at using computers to perform discovery, mostly in an unsupervised manner. I’ll describes some recent achievements and the mathematical challenges we have faced.
