Applications of the Geometric Singular Perturbation Theory for Poisson-Nernst-Planck Models
Weishi Liu (University of Kansas)

Abstract:

In the previous talk, we reported the geometric singular perturbation framework for Poisson-Nernst-Planck models. In this talk, as an illustration of the usage of this geometric framework, we will carry further investigations based on the governing system and discuss a number of applications which are central to ionic flow properties. These applications include effects on ionic flow properties from the interplay between the permanent charge, the channel shape, as well as the boundary conditions. Several interesting futures will be revealed, some of them are not so intuitive.
