Abstract:

There has been a great deal of activity over the past several years on approaches to the study of the local structure of manifolds with scalar curvature bounded from below. This topic can be motivated from General Relativity or from Riemannian Geometry. We will describe recent results which involve angle comparisons of polyhedral domains as well as results on certain quasi-local mass quantities. We will compare these notions and describe some of the recent progress.
