We will recall a few concepts seen during the previous seminar (essentially related to gene expression burstiness) and put them on the experimental ground. We will review seminal experimental papers showing that protein production and gene transcription occur in bursts and then relate the experimental results with the ideas of ‘burst amplitude’ and ‘burst frequency’ seen from a theoretical point of view.
