We introduce and establish the classical comparison and maximum principles in elliptic equations through proof. We then extend their applicability to a coupled two-species Lotka-Volterra competition-diffusion model. Additionally, we introduce supersolutions and subsolutions, providing a foundation for subsequent analyses.
