The Linearized Einstein Equation on a Spherical Symmetric Background
Mu-Tao Wang (Columbia University)

Abstract

I will discuss a Hodge type decomposition of symmetric (0,2) tensors on a spherically symmetric space. The decomposition commutes with the linearized Einstein operator and leads to the decoupling of the linearized Einstein equation. The application to the linear stability of Schwarzschild spacetime will be briefly discussed. This is based on joint work with Pei-Ken Hung and Jordan Keller.
