Program

Chen Jiang (Tokyo)  10:00-10:50

Title: Birationality problem on varieties with numerically trivial canonical divisors.

Abstract: Let be a variety with with mild singularities and a nef and big Weil divisor, we are interested in when the linear system defines a birational map. I will discuss some effective and optimal results on this problem.

--------------------------------
Frank Liou (NCKU)       11:00-11:50

Title: Mean field equations on hyperelliptic curves

Abstract: We will consider the mean field equation on the hyperellptic curves with respect to the canonical metric

--------------------------------
Jen-Chieh Hsiao (NCKU)      13:10-14:00

Title: Bernstein-Sato polynomial of toric varieties

Abstract: Budur, Mustata, and Saito extended the notion of Bernstein-Sato polynomials(b-functions) to arbitrary varieties in a smooth variety. They also related the roots of b-functions to the jumping coefficients of the corresponding multiplier ideals, generalizing the classical result in the case of hypersurface. In this talk, following the construction of Budur-Mustata-Saito I will extend the notion of b-functions to normal toric varieties and relate them with the corresponding multiplier ideals in the sense of de Fernex and Hacon. This talk is based on the joint work with L. Matusevich.
--------------------------------
Ching-Jui Lai (NTU)     14:10-15:00

Title: On anticanonical volumes of canonical Q-Fano threefolds.

Abstract: It is known to Kollar-Miyaoka-Mori-Tagaki that canonical Q-Fano threefolds form a bounded moduli. In particular, there is a universal upper bound on the anticanonical volume . We will discuss on the problem of finding out the optimal maximum anticanonical volume among all canonical Q-Fano threefolds.
