Special Announcement (9/1 08:00AM updated):

Dear invited speakers and participants,

We hope that you all have been well. Thank you very much for accepting our invitation to speak or participate in “The Fifth Taiwan International Conference” in honor of Professor Rick Schoen. We apologize for being silent for a long time. We have been waiting with the hope of mitigation on the Covid-19 pandemic. Unfortunately, it is unlikely that a safe and convenient in-person meeting will be possible in December. On the other hand, the on-line setting does not seem to fit into our schedules and the celebratory nature of this event. It is with regret that we decide to postpone “The Fifth Taiwan International Conference”. Hopefully we can reschedule the meeting at a later date soon to celebrate Rick’s birthday when the pandemic is all over. We thank you again for your support and understanding.

Best regards,

The organization committee

Aim & Scope:

This conference is a series of bi-yearly international conferences on Geometry in Taiwan. An important area in geometry will be specified as the main theme each time. Our purpose is to create a discussion and interaction platform in the chosen area, and at the same time to foster future co-operations and introduce new researchers into the field. The topic for the first conference is "Special Lagrangians and Related Topics", the topic for the second conference is "Geometry and General Relativity", the topics for the third conference is "Conformal Geometry, CR Structures, and Minimal Submanifolds and the topics of the fourth conference is around submanifold theories including Min-Max, regularity, MCF, Allen-Cahn equation, and etc.

The Fifth Taiwan International Conference on Geometry will be held at the NCTS from December 16-December 22, 2020, Taipei, Taiwan. The conference will celebrate the mathematical accomplishments of Professor Rick Schoen on the occasion of his 70th birthday. The topics of the conferences include the main research topics in geometric analysis such as General Relativity, Minimal Submanifolds and Geometric Evolution Equations.
