Aim & Scope
Drs. Lani Wu and Steven Altschuler from the University of California at San Francisco visit the NCTS from March 26 to May 2. They have both mathematics and biology backgrounds. We want to take this opportunity to put together a series of Friday afternoon meetings in April highlighting interdisciplinary researches across diverse areas in the quantitative life sciences, including systems-biology, mathematics, physics, engineering and so on.

Structure and Preparation:
(1) April 7, 12:30—3:00pm (lunch boxes will be provided): Meet the Taiwan research community. Each participant is welcome to introduce their research areas and interests by giving a five-minute 1-2 PowerPoint-slide presentation. We will use the last 15 minutes to discuss plans for the next 2 meetings.
(2) April 14, 2:00 – 4:30 pm: In depth discussion from 4 participants. Each participant will give a 20-minute presentation about a current project of interest plus a 10-minute talk about their dream how ideas outside of their expertise could help their research.
(3) April 28, 2:00 – 4:30 pm: In depth discussion from 4 participants. Each participant will give a 20-minute presentation about a current project of interest plus a 10-minute talk about their dream how ideas outside of their expertise could help their research.
